Changpeng Zhao

Changpeng Zhao, also known as CZ, is a Chinese-Canadian businessman and the founder and CEO of Binance, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges.

Zhao was born in Jiangsu, China and moved to Canada with his family at a young age. He earned a degree in Computer Science from McGill University in Montreal. After graduation, he worked as a software developer and system architect for various companies before eventually starting his own software development business.

In 2013, Zhao became interested in the world of cryptocurrency and began to invest in Bitcoin. In 2014, he founded Binance, which originally began as a platform for trading Bitcoin and other digital assets.

Since then, Binance has grown to become one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, with over 10 million registered users and daily trading volumes in the billions of dollars.

In addition to his role at Binance, Zhao is also actively involved in the cryptocurrency industry and is a regular speaker at industry events and conferences. He is known for his strong support of blockchain technology and his belief in the potential of cryptocurrency to change the financial industry.

Zhao is also known for his philanthropy, he has been involved in several charity projects and has also donated over $1m to the Malta President’s Trust.

In 2018, Forbes included him in its annual “Fintech 50” list of the top 50 fintech companies in the world, and in 2019, he was ranked as the richest man in the blockchain industry.
